What a UK GDPR representative costs in 2026
A UK GDPR Article 27 representative costs between £120 and about £1,000 a year at the smallest band, depending on the provider and how it bands its clients. Janus Compliance charges £249 a year with no bands. DataRep is cheaper at the bottom, GDPR Local and VeraSafe are dearer, and Prighter and Engage Compliance fall between. Every published price, with its band and its date
Providers band their prices by different things, so the cheapest provider for one company is not the cheapest for another. The table gives the smallest band for each and says what moves you up. Where a provider publishes no figure, it is not listed; DataRep and Formiti quote larger engagements on request, and EDPO publishes a calculator for some mandates only.

Why the prices vary so much
Banding. Most providers price by headcount, revenue or data subjects, on the theory that a bigger company brings more correspondence. It rarely does. A UK representative for a company with a thousand UK users and one with a million receives about the same post, which is to say very little.
What comes with the appointment. Prighter and GDPR Local sell a platform: a portal, a dashboard, a set of templates, a record of processing you build inside their tool. VeraSafe sells its brand and its insurance. The appointment itself is the same Article 27 designation in every case.
Coverage and languages. EU appointments cost more than UK ones because a representative has to be reachable for data subjects in every member state where the client sells, and correspondence can arrive in any of their languages. The UK appointment is one jurisdiction and one language.
Sales. A provider with a sales team, paid acquisition and a marketplace listing prices those costs into the annual fee.
Where Janus is priced, and why
£249 a year, one price. DataRep’s small company package is cheaper, at £120 without sensitive data or £200 with it, and if price is the only question that is the answer and we would say so. The difference at Janus is who reads what arrives. Correspondence from the ICO or a data subject reaches a named CIPP/E lawyer, is forwarded within one working day with a note of the deadline it carries, and if you do not have a record of processing yet, the intake builds one. There is no platform, no portal and no sales team, which is why the price is where it is.
Nothing routine costs extra. A substantive drafted reply to the ICO, or a translation, is £250 an hour agreed in writing before it starts, and most companies never need one.
